We are bang in the middle of the NC500, only 7 miles from the village of Lairg - the only inland large settlement in Sutherland.

We are in a remote location between Bonar Bridge and Rosehall, although practically situated just off the A837. Our Scotland lodges overlook the Kyle of Sutherland where the birdlife is amazing and varied. We are lucky to have both Pine Martens and Badgers visit our garden – although, both are quite elusive.

From our lodges, you can get to all points of the NC500 and back within a day. Especially enjoy the beautiful scenery of the inland northern Highlands as well the coastal routes.

Being close to the centre of the country offers advantage in choosing what you do on your holiday considering the weather. If one coast has poor weather, often the other has it good. Also, there are many wonderful inland places to see. This is a big benefit of staying here rather than sticking strictly to the NC500.

I was lucky enough to visit the Highlands late November/early December and I was literally blown away with its beauty and the fact that it snowed was an added bonus! The scenery was amazing and there is an abundance of things to do, both indoor and outdoor. If you have not yet visited the Highlands, add it to your bucket list – it is a MUST!

What an absolute beautiful place to stay. The scenery is breath-taking, the tranquil surroundings clear your mind almost immediately. Wildlife is in abundance within the grounds of the property and there are so many fantastic walks and things to do & see within the surrounding area. Highly recommend a visit.

We stayed in the Spring of 2021. This place is a photographer's dream. Nature and scenery is in abundance. The views are fabulous. We had stunning wild life experiences: salmon, seals, dolphins and so many birds and wild flowers. Clean air fabulous views all enhanced by changing sky scapes

What a stunning location this is. It’s situated in the middle of the NC500 so it’s the perfect base to explore. There’s something for everyone - we enjoyed history (the site of the battle of Culloden, Dunrobin Castle, Muir House and Dunnett Head) wildlife, (dolphins, seals, puffins, skewers, a peregrine falcon and jumping salmon to name but a few), amazing countryside and walks (including Handa Island and the Bone Caves), waterfalls (including Fairy Glenn and Smoo) and stunning beaches. Alan and Yvonne were very helpful in suggesting places to visit and helping work out the best times to do this (watching the dolphins play was so amazing).

The absolutely quiet location is perfect for nature lovers and to explore the area. The furnishings were excellent and well thought out, we did not miss anything. excellent wifi. the hosts are helpful and helpful with providing home made delicious cakes.
